A lesson from my daughter and a comb
Jenna taught me a lesson today. I was changing her diaper and Jenna is at a stage where she can’t stay still, she is looking and moving everywhere. So changing her diaper can become a wrestling match when she rolls over, trying to go over her changing table or grab at everything around her. My wife showed me a trick, to give Jenna her comb. She will grab it play with it, put it in her mouth (I guess she likes the feeling of the brittles on her gums) but she will stay put and on her back, so changing her diaper is not that hard.
So while changing her diaper, I wondered aren’t we similar to a baby. I have the feeling that I enjoy doing so many different things that I get distracted too easily and if something of interest is put under my nose I lose sight of what matters and let other things control what I’m doing. I can find application of this principle in marketing but it may have a negative impact when we let things and others control our own lives.
What do you think of it?
